Why Organic?

Why do we use organic methods?

Organic Earth Landscapes works in an environmentally friendly way because we care deeply about the earth.

In Britain thousands of tonnes of pesticides are being spread around in the environment every year. These can damage the soil and cause disease in plants and trees. They can also get into the ground water which we drink.

The manufacturing process of the pesticides releases large amounts into the atmosphere. Their production also uses a considerable amount of energy and that is before the excess energy consumed by their transportation.

All of this is not necessary - for example where there is bare ground for weeds to grow we plant the area with groundcover plants or cover it with mulches such as ornamental bark or stone chippings often over specially developed fabrics.

And we tap into nature’s own defence mechanism by pruning mature shrubs to encourage their leaves to cover the ground.

We recycle materials where possible to avoid landfill and transportation and can set up green waste composting on site.
